Welcome!
Welcome to The Unmasked Apothecary. I am Dr. Rachelle E. Fawcett, a professional neurodiversity peer-mentor, coach, artisan, and advocate.
This space was created at the intersection of lived experience, holistic care, and practical support. In all respects, my work centers on caring for and uplifting neurodivergent people and communities by validating each individual's unique capacity, strengths, values, and experiences. Whether through peer-mentoring and neurodiversity coaching or simple, sensory-friendly botanical skincare handmade in my little kitchen, my mission is to care for neurodivergent people in a way that honors each individual’s autonomy and our interconnection with each other and our planet.
Background & Philosophy
A Broad Foundation: With a doctorate in spirituality and ethics alongside decades in caregiving, social services, activism, and community education, I bring a broad perspective to my practice. My work is guided by core personal values: authenticity, repair, integrity, compassion, the alchemization of “failure,” and, above all, curiosity.
Rooted in Lived Experience: My commitment to neurodivergent communities stems from my own lived experience, including the medical struggles, social trauma, and confusion so many of us navigate. As an Autistic individual with ADHD, OCD, C-PTSD, dyspraxia, dyscalculia, PDA*, and alexithymia, I offer guidance to help others build a self-compassionate, neuroaffirming life.
A Collaborative Approach: Importantly, I am wildly imperfect, and in no way should my experience be generalized. I don’t have all the answers and I don’t always know what to do. My approach is about mutual creation and cooperation, not a roadmap or manual, and is therefore dialogical, whether between myself and my human clients or the plants and substances I work with to create holistic, neuroaffirming skincare products. In dialogue there is mutual discovery, room for the spiky profiles and nonlinear learning common among neurodivergent people, and plenty of space to uplift a more bottom-up approach to self-discovery and growth.
The Unmasked Apothecary
The Unmasked Apothecary is the manifestation of this work, both about my own unmasking in the authentic living of my own life and sharing of my own gifts and joys, and the unmasking I wish to inspire in others.
My Own Journey: This practice is the manifestation of my own unmasking, the culmination of my education, survival, and flourishing in a neuro-normative world, and a space to inspire that same authentic living in others.
Unmasking for Others: For those I serve, unmasking refers to personal growth and self-discovery in safe spaces, with tools and resources that honor their needs and work with their strengths, and the unmasking involved in the remembered interconnection of people and planet. Masking is, after all, often a deeply lonely, isolating experience, and it is my belief that unmasking is therefore the opposite: a remembering of our togetherness, a mosaic of our uniqueness.
Connecting Mentorship & Skincare: So how do mentoring/coaching and skincare fit together? Beyond my own special interests and hyperfixations, handmade botanical skincare offers an opportunity for embodied remembering. Using whole organic herbs, Minnesota sunflower oil, and grass-fed tallow, each product, from unscented balms to reusable bath-tea bags, invites you to connect with your body, supporting a grounded sense of presence, personal comfort, and daily ease.
So welcome to The Unmasked Apothecary, a place of curious discovery, adventurous learning, and compassionate growth.
Note on Mentorship & Services: Dr. Rachelle Fawcett provides non-clinical peer-mentoring, coaching, and educational guidance. Mentorship services are grounded in lived experience and professional expertise, but do not constitute licensed psychotherapy, clinical social work, or medical treatment.
